Silicon Valley International School’s Early Years Center (Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten) builds a strong foundation for bilingual immersion, discovery, innovation, and academic success for elementary school and beyond.

Bilingual education - the foundation of language

Our students learn in two languages and acquire the different thought processes unique to each language. They develop different ways to think, to process concepts and to approach problems. 
Our immersion model builds a strong foundation in both languages: target language (Chinese, French, or German) and English. We provide a high level of language to maximize the receptiveness of young children to language and to build their working oral language skills. Early Years students spend approximately 85% of their week in their target language.

IB education - the foundation of learning

Using the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, our Early Years Center cultivates foundational academic skills through an inquiry-based framework that promotes discovery and creativity. 
Experiential learning, discovery, artistic expression, and imagination are key elements that empower students to become independent, observant, and creative. 
Through units such as “Who We Are” and “How We Express Ourselves”, students learn to become a member of the school community, to observe and understand the world, to develop oral and written language skills, to establish skills to structure their thoughts, and to perceive, feel, imagine and create.

Our Early Years Center (Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten), Middle School, and High School is located on our Willows Campus in Menlo Park (475 Pope Street). Kindergarten - 5th grade is located at our Cohn Campus in Palo Alto (151 Laura Lane).
