Welcome to Silicon Valley International School! As an International Baccalaureate World School, we are proud to be the only bilingual school on the West coast to offer the full continuum of the renowned IB Programmes:  the Primary Years, the Middle Years, and the Diploma Programmes. 

 

For more than 40 years, our school has delivered an engaging and challenging bilingual education. We offer three immersion programs: Chinese, French, and German. Beginning in preschool, our students not only learn languages but they learn through languages. As a result, they expand their thought, they think critically from multiple perspectives and across languages and cultures. They are reflexive and self-aware. They are free from cultural biases and can fluidly enter intercultural dialogues. They possess the tools to improve our world.

In addition to our preschool to upper school immersion programs, beginning in 6th grade, we also offer our Upper School Language Acquisition (USLA) program for students with no prior bilingual immersion experience. This program attracts students who want to engage in local and global communities, who are internationally minded, who are seeking cultural fluency, and who want to explore the world and make it a better place. 

Our programmes focus on academic depth and rigor and instill in our students the confidence they need to solve complex problems. We emphasize inquiry-based learning to foster intellectual curiosity. From an early age, our students observe and question the world around them; they draw connections between what they learn in the classroom and the real world;  they learn from their mistakes, collaborate to achieve greater results. As a result, our students’ educational journey sets them apart as confident, curious, and resilient learners who graduate with the most comprehensive and sought-after college preparatory program: the IB Diploma.
